Charlotte’s Weekly Whispers – Tales from the Kiln & Kettle Court

Lieve mensen, What a week.
Honestly. The kind of week where something in the air feels different—warmer, softer, more sparkly. The studio was buzzing with stories: ouders en kinderen, tieners met vriendinnen, moeders en dochters. There was laughter, stille momenten, paint-splattered love, and just enough mischief to keep Charlotte entertained.
The Tortoise and the Girl
She walked in quietly. A meisje met een zachte blik and something poetic about her. She chose a wide, round plate and began with delicate pastel bubbles. And then—a turtle, painted right in the centre. Gentle, soulful, serene. Toen vertelde ze haar verhaal. Her father had been very ill. She gave him a turtle… and after that, he began to heal. It felt almost magical. A kind of quiet miracle. You could feel it in her piece—every brushstroke carried love, memory, and hope. Goosebumps? We had them.

Mother-Daughter Moments
There must’ve been something in the stars this week, because we were spoiled with the most beautiful moeder-dochter duos. One pair came from Amsterdam. The daughter painted a heart for her moeder, and the mother painted an identical heart right back. She was heavily pregnant—so this quiet moment together? Pure magic.
Another mother brought her wildly talented daughter—who painted a stunning schaal and brought… wait for it… her labubu. Yes, Charlotte officially confirms: Kiln & Kettle is labubu friendly.
We also had an Argentinian mama with her two stunning dochters, all the way from Roermond. One daughter painted a tranquil koi pond, truly mesmerizing. The other? Something that looked like an ancient French artifact—lotuses, tools, mystery. And mama? She went full joy-mode: a colour-splashed serveerlepel that felt like a personality on a plate.

Daddy’s Day Out
A proud papa rolled in with his whole gezin—and yes, he went classic with a football mug, beer-ready and brilliant. His sons painted Minecraft plates and a kattenbak, and their moeder? She created a psychedelic spoon explosion. It was fireworks in glaze. The whole family was a vibe.

Castlefest & Cake Cravings
Weekend guests arrived in medieval flair—stopping by en route to Castlefest. There was coffee, taart, and tales of dragons and dressing up. We saw returning faces too—a woman who visited us before brought a vriendin this time. They sat outside, tea in hand, brush in motion. Their laughter was better than background music.
Another mama, fresh into the newborn phase, came in for some one-on-one time with her older daughter. They painted together—mama made a vase filled with symbols close to her heart. It was tender. Beautiful. Sacred, almost.

Just One More Thing...
Every week we say it, but we mean it more each time: thank you. Dank je wel for sharing your stories, your liefde, your messy, magnificent creativity with us.
Charlotte herself has been busy—yes, your royal narrator has been firing up her ovens and spinning molten poetry into clay. Zie je jouw stuk binnenkort op Instagram? Kom ‘m gerust ophalen, lief mens.
And now…
Charlotte’s Courtly Couplets (a very official sign-off poem)
This week was painted, soft and sweet,
Met schildpadden, tulpen, taart als treat.
Laboubous, harten, lepel-vuurwerk too,
And pink cheeks glowing with something new.
A castle here, a koi pond there,
Een moeder, een dochter, a moment rare.
So come as you are, bring joy, bring flair—

We’ve always got brushes and magic to spare
With cake crumbs on her crown and glaze on her sleeves,
Yours cheekily,
Charlotte Kiln
