About us
Welcome to Kiln and Kettle, our little ceramic painting studio in the heart of Heemstede.
We wanted to create somewhere warm, creative, and a little bit different. A place where you can come with friends, family, your partner, or come on your own.
We're proudly South African-owned, and that warm South African hospitality is a big part of what we're about.
Come in, choose something pretty, paint, chat, have a coffee or a glass of bubbly, and enjoy a few hours doing something just for fun.

How it works
At Kiln & Kettle, we’ve made creativity simple, soothing, and utterly delightful. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, here’s how your visit unfolds:
1. Choose
Pick your favourite ceramic from our shelves when you arrive.
2. Paint
Choose your colours, grab a brush, and have fun. You really don't need to be an artist.
3. Relax
Paint, chat, and enjoy a coffee, cake, something cold, or a little glass of bubbly.
4. We do the rest
Once you're finished, we glaze and fire your piece in our kiln. Your finished ceramic will be ready to collect about 3 weeks later.
PRICING
€15 studio fee per person - this includes your paints, glazing, and firing in our kiln.
You choose and pay for your ceramic piece separately when you arrive.
Ceramics range from €15-€60, depending on what you choose.
So you can come in, choose something you love, and enjoy your time with us.
On busy days, we kindly ask you to stick to the two-hour-and-thirty-minute slot so everyone has a chance to paint. On quieter days, if we have space, you’re very welcome to stay a little longer. And if you don’t finish your piece, no worries at all — you can always return on another day to complete it at no extra cost. We’ll keep it safe for you until then.
A little tip: please arrive 10–15 minutes before your booking. This gives you time to choose your ceramic piece and get settled, so you can use your full slot for painting.

Bring your people, and we'll take care of the rest.
